HanThatWan Holiday Thing-That-Few-People-Will-Partipicate-In-So-Prove-Me-Wrong

September!! i was thinking that there really isn't much celebrating in for anything in September (sorry to everyone who has a birthday in Sept, i forgot..). I suppose many of us are busy with new schedules or doling over the old routine. Fear not, NIMM won't let the monotony start.

We are now accepting applications for the first ever HanThatWan holiday!! Please enter the following for proper holiday processing:

1) Name of holiday

2) Exact Date (leap years are excluded)

3) Date can not coincide with current celebrated holiday

4) Must have universal instructions on how the celebrate holiday
(probably won't take a day off the celebrate the holiday so be creative and cultish)

5) Submission must be made in September

6) Voting will begin Sept 27 and end Oct 1 (to be done by blog comments)

Thank you to all future participate. Don't forget holiday does not need to be in September.

Quick update about me: not much happening, miss you

  1. gasp....the first toe in the water is always so shiveringly cold......Well, since ya'll aren't gonna jump, I will....

    Holiday Name:
National Non-Sibling Sibling Day or National SS Day (not to be confused with scary gangs)

    Holiday Meaning:
National day of recognition for the intense bond between non-sibling siblings .....A.K.A.......HanThatWan'ers

Holiday Date: (Chosen very arbitrarily) Jan. 16th.....also known as 'Appreciate a Dragon Day' ...
I chose this date as I feel January is the blandest boringest month of all.... (Sorry to all that may have a special day in this month)

    Holiday Festivities ...A.K.A.....the Good Stuff

Participants in National NonSibling Sibling Day or National SS Day, celebrate this famous Holiday mainly by eating.... Glass bottle Coke drinking contests are routinely followed with the National Anthem played via Glass Bottle Orchestra...... S'Mores are the National SS Day Food Group....... Participants also txt/message/call/Skype other various participants with the cheering cry 'HanThatWan Forever!!!'.... Some participants even go as far as to group Skype other states in order to share the festivities.... Wearing face Blue and Green Face paint shows the ultimate devotion to this National SS Day

Update on myself....I'm going to be in Texas in 8days...that's about the most exciting thing I think...

  2. Thank you Sarah!! It's looking like it will be an instant run off between your excellent holiday and my own.

    Holiday Name:
    Snail in the Mail

    Holiday Meaning:
Celebrate written letters among the families of HanThatWan
Holiday Date: Spanning the Last Two Full Weeks of November
(We really need holidays that span multiple days. The ancients had it right before capitalism. Also November is my favorite monNth)

    Holiday Practice:
First Week - Write three snail mail letters, each to one member of the three HanThatWan dynasties.
    Second Week - Reply

I really like writing letters back to Dallas, which I've been postponed of lately because they're moving soon!?! But I'd love to write letter to everyone.

Side note this holiday will result in tons of letter being sent to the Thatchers, like lots of letters.

Let it be know that I will celebrate all holidays posted and probably make a calender for it including possibly an alter or shrine of some sort - like maybe little effigies of each of ya... or not or not

Safe travels Sarah- where in Texas?

    big Love,
    Nathan H

  3. Holiday Name:
    Coconut Wired

    Holiday Meaning:
    March 4th @ 3pm
    3/4/3 or HanThatWan
    / | \
    3 4 3 = 10

Festivities start at 3 pm in whatever time zone you are currently living.

    Holiday Practice:
Text/call/voicemail/email each member one small thing. Could be a joke, a saying, a comment about them, a memory. Pretty much, reach out. (this will of course mean the beginning of the HanThatWan address book)
You have till midnight that night to complete the reach out. During the day you must plan & do something outside, in honor of all our outdoor yesteryears. This could entail, a walk in a park, start gazing, a swim in a body of water (lake, pond, ocean), tent, hike, you name it! It can be as simple or as crazy as you wanna make it. Then let us know how you spent your outdoor time- via mass group text (yes, this means everyone will have a phone) or if it has a lot of juicy detail, comment on the current NIMM post (which I’m sure will be done in remembrance of the day). While your enjoying God's great world, think and pray for each member. More important then all connections we have is the knowledge and love for our Savior Jesus Christ. This day not only represents our friendship, but also the really meaning behind all we do--live for Christ!

Coconut Wired is meant to bring us together with the comfort that no matter where we are, someone is thinking and lifting us up in prayer.
