Love y'all
I'm speechless. This was pure raw and real HANTHATWAN. You had me in tears with that "lets-blow-into-bottles-and-make-noises" scene. I thought that was dead and gone, I'm so happy that it survived to resurface at such a perfect time. I don't know where you guys get these songs, but each one went so well with the footage. I'm over here balling my eyes out missing all of you. And then the truck ride :( garsh, you pull my heartstrings!
ReplyDeleteSights and sounds
Displayed in many ways
I sit here lifeless
Wishing to be in that dream
The world moves forward
So must we
A band of gypsies
An army are we
Floating sinking
Swimming in the deep
We are surrounded
With those we will keep
Love and laughter
Are our buoys
We will never
Let one flounder
Ties that bind
Must never come undone
for where would we
ever run
To those that know
our inward souls
We clasp our hands
Holding each one close
Thank you, Nathan, thank you, thank you! Miss you, my little bro!!!
Hugs to all, especially the ones my hands reach farthest for

is that the first time i've been called little brother? that i can remember, yes. Thank you Ellie.
Deletethe sea images in your verse are making me happy
I'm sorry, I should re-phrase that to younger bro. I didn't mean to sound demeaning, cuz technically your not quite a little bro as we're only 2 yrs apart. However, you're family no matter which way you slice that pie. :-) Hope that strange potato-head country is treating you ok. If not I'll send you a potato gun that you can murder them with :-P
Deletewaiting patiently, nah, I'm gonna cut the you-know-what-out out. waiting IMpatiently for FLAMINGO to start.
This is beautiful, Nathan. And hilarious. And strange. And completely wonderful. Uncensored HANTHATWAN. Thank you for sharing your wonderful creation!
ReplyDeleteI was hit hard with a dose of HANTHATWAN-camping-trip-isn't-happening-this-year reality. It hurt, but still I cherish these memories. I won't lie, there were a several tears pricking in my eyes as I watched. I miss this amazing-ness. Are all of you Hansons sure you can't make it back here, just for a long weekend in July? ;) It might be a little bit majestically, bloody incredible. If not, I'll just sit here watching this over and over and over and over and over and over and over...and over and over.
No words to describe the grandness of these memories (occasional grumpiness included ;).
Hat's off to this masterpiece.
p.s. love the music choices too.
p.s.s. watching it again. heart breaking again. ugh. :'( <manly-butt tears.
ReplyDeletewaiting till we can visit, but that'll be at best next summer for me. i've watched this for hours, not including as i put it together. it's a weird, awkward joy followed by just sad
Deletei only wish i could make it again
Man, that was the best. Was indeed. We looked so drunk, like amazingly drunk. You did a crazy great job N (there's a reason you are first).
ReplyDeletethough it be the first uttered, the both of the M's are left to ring in the ear longest
DeleteI wanna know what it feels like to step back in time
ReplyDeleteLet me ride the experiment that's brewing in your mind.
I will take the risk, and risk it all
if I thought it would take me back to fall....
When the wind blew thru the trees
and the motion of the seas, would make me want to scream out loud
or stand on a rock and just watch.....
Take me back to cold bottles of unopened coke
trying to find a rock that broke
the seal of that metal top.
Pop that top, and let it fizzle,
spit in the fire and hear it sizzle
King of the seat made by a watery chisel.
He's the swizzle.
H.T.W. no acronym so dear
and though this comes with much pain
I must say that video made me cheer....
Hooray! to the oceans spray.....
(n yes, those extra periods are necessary for my rhyme to have rhythm ....)
